What is Ecology?
Ecology is the study of Biotic and Abiotic factors, meaning different components that contribute to the world. Biotic and Abiotic are opposites - Biotic means living factors while Abiotic means non living factors. This study requires scientists working with organisms and see how they work together and their reaction to some environments. These environments are called Biomes, the definition of a Biome is "a large naturally occurring community of flora and fauna occupying a major habitat". Flora and Fauna are essentially what makes up a Biome, they are animals and plants. Flora meaning plants and Fauna meaning animals. There are 6 Biomes we have in the world today: Desert, Tundra, Taiga, Tropical Rainforest, Savanna and Temperate Forest.
